  • The salmon season on the Blackwater River is from 1 February to 30 September each year, with September being catch and release only.

  • The Ballnaroone Beat is 2 kilometres upriver (West) of the village of Ballyduff Co. Waterford and is adjacent to the Clondulane-Ballyduff Road. 

  • Most anglers fish for salmon, sea trout and trout.

  • The beat is suitable for all levels, including beginners with long runs of easy wading.

  • This is Ireland and you should be prepared for some wet weather. Early in the season, it is best to be well insulated as both the air and the river are cold.

    There are benches and tables along the beat where you can enjoy a rest and a bite to eat.
